Throughout the year we host walks and visits to the farm. We hope you will join us for one (or several!) to build a picture of the whole farm.

Walks usually last between 2 and 3 hours, unless otherwise specified, and will almost always include tea and biscuits. Please let us know of any dietary requirements. Children are welcome on any walk; these events are not be arranged specially for them but they will have plenty of space and their questions, like yours, will always be addressed.

We will always do our best to accommodate anyone with mobility difficulties but it helps to contact us in advance. Except for lambing, dogs may come if calm and on a lead. Please check each event for booking details. Remember to wear suitable footwear for uneven ground.

We look forward to seeing you!

Tamarisk Farm are taking part twice in Dorchester Walking Festival this year! Alastair Braidwood is returning with his ever-popular Folk Song Walks, and Adam will be showing you the wonders of Spring on the Farm.

Dorchester Town Council organises an annual walking festival during National Walking Week. The aim is to get locals and visitors of all ages and levels of ability out walking exploring the rich history and stunning landscapes in and around Dorchester, the county town for Dorset.

The Agroecological Way is a four day course at Tamarisk Farm that aims to introduce participants to the key principles of agroecology and grant first-hand insight to a broad range of agroecological enterprises in order to understand the key opportunities and challenges within the sector.

The course aims to get participants thinking like agroecological farmers, weighing up complex interactions within agro-ecosystems and considering their influence on farm management to balance productivity with regeneration. As well as exploring agroecology as both a science and a practice, the course offers the opportunity to learn about the social and political aspects of the agroecological movement.

There will be farm-walks delving into the methods applied in the arable, livestock and horticulture enterprises at Tamarisk Farm, and a workshop on natural fibres using flax and wool produced on the farm.
