Description
Moorit is the northern name of this rich red-brown colour, typical of several native breeds of sheep. It is a strong colour and I have been particularly pleased using it with using several toning colours to create a close pattern using diagonal stripes or zigzags. It also works well as a background colour for very traditional Norwegian style patterns.
Double Knitting is probably the most all purpose of our yarns. Our Shetland DK gives a robust yarn despite the fineness of the actual fibres. It knits comfortably with plenty of elasticity and give and offers plenty of scope for all knitters as well as being an excellent thickness for children to work with.
If you want to be creative with natural colours to the full, DK is the best yarn to choose because as well as the nine Shetland colours, we have it in Chocolate Black (from the Hebrideans) and three different colours from the Jacob sheep, including Tweed Grey .
