It’s Real Bread Week from the 19th-27th February, and we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our farm!
Real Bread Week is all about the hows, wheres, and whys of buying quality bread or learning to make your own with great ingredients. We are keen to help everyone understand where their food comes from, and what decisions are best for them.
See the way we turn our grains into flour and delicious bread. We will start with a walk to see the wheat growing in the fields. Adam will show you the cleaning process, the barley polisher, and our stone mill. After, there will be tasters of bread and cakes to show the range of flavours, textures and broad uses of our wholemeal grains and flours to get you inspired.
- 10.15am – Meet and Greet by the shop in West Bexington
- 10.30am – Arable walk
- 12noon – Tour of the mill
- 1.30pm – Lunch in the form of tasters
Take away a pot of sourdough starter, our collected recipes, and a 1.5kg bag of flour at the end of the day, ready to start your own breadmaking and baking adventures.
Please wear sensible footwear and warm clothing. Disabled access is possible, please contact us directly for details. Please note that due to the nature of the grains we produce, lunch cannot be gluten free, but let us know of any other dietary restrictions and we will make sure food is available!
